The Parish Church in the village of Ripley, Surrey
The cycling road races at the 2012 Olympics will pass through Ripley. The actual route is currently planned to be along Newark Lane and then across to Rose Lane. We look forward to the eyes of the cycling world turning to our village which has a special place in the history of cycling.
In preparation for the 2012 Olympics Surrey History Centre has put together an exhibition about the sporting history of Surrey which is currently touring local museums. They hope to put more of the exhibition on their web site in the near future.
The Olympic Cycling races in 2012 and the practice event in August 2011 will disrupt Church services as the route of the race will block movement from one end of the village to the other.
Information about alteration to services as a result of the Cycle Races will be published here when it becomes available.
